Parents and Teachers

Parents and teachers are excited about the launch of a digital platform that engages them in the decision-making process on education matters. This virtual platform (‘we make our policies’) was recently launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE) to foster a better alliance with students, teachers, and parents. The Ministry will use this platform to engage education stakeholders to make educational decisions.

The Importance of Involving Parents and Teachers in Education Matters

A students’ educational success is not tied to the school he attends or socio-economic status. It takes the involvement of the family, school, and community for a child to excel in school. They support students’ learning and development and improving school practices.

This engagement affects students positively and helps them to achieve better; family engagement in school is associated with better knowledge acquisition. It also decreases dropout rates.

It improves behavior and attendance; some students might find school boring. Family, teachers, and community influence have a positive impact on school attendance. Monitoring students’ whereabouts, encouraging school attendance, and getting involved in parent-teacher associations are all beneficial.

A Platform that Involves Parents and Teachers in Educational Matters

This virtual platform by the Ministry of Education (MoE) is in line with the national agenda that seeks to prepare for the next 50 years. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, launched part of the project. This aims to encourage residents and citizens to present ideas for the future of the nation. Here is how to understand this project.

This is a Virtual Platform

Online platforms are now part of our lives, and we rely on them to do many things like interacting with others or buying goods and services. This virtual platform was designed to facilitate interaction between parents, teachers, and other important stakeholders in the education sector via the internet. This platform is flexible; it’s easy to make interactive for parents and teachers to easily communicate. It is also easier to collect feedback; participants can voice their opinions wherever they are.

The Education Community

The Ministry of Education (MoE) aims to involve educational community members to make important educational-related decisions. This aligns with the country’s agenda and goals. This means that if you study at a university in Dubai, several outcomes will be as a result of important decisions made by the educational community. For instance, they might advocate for more resources.

The ministry uses a transparent and beneficial partnership with relevant stakeholders including, parents, teachers, students, community, private and public sector, and policy-makers in various fields. This is essential to improve and enrich the educational movement. The ministry and its partners work to ensure the validity of inter-community channels; the proposals will benefit the educational system.

Improving Education

At the launch of this platform, the Minister of Education, His Excellency Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, said that since the launch of the improved education system, the Ministry of Education has worked to improve the educational system. The Ministry has strived to maintain its links with entities that would boost the education’s pace in the country by strengthening and encouraging their relationship with educational work partners.

Integrating Roles

The Ministry of Education believes in the importance of incorporating roles between parents, teachers, students, and educational policy-makers. This is important because it can help to identify field and scientific priorities and challenges that any of the educational community parties might face. Teachers, parents, students, and other educational stakeholders contribute to the overall educational success if they are active in the decision-making process.

When the Ministry provides useful information, these parties can contribute their ideas, opinions, and grievances. Students also need to be heard; for instance, you might have some ideas on how to implement a new student program at your university in Dubai.

Students are also the ideal party to explain what they go through. Teachers, on the other hand, are involved in the success of schools, especially when they feel involved in more than classwork. Involving the community and other stakeholders in the decision-making process builds trust and confidence in the process and decision-makers.

The Next 50 Years

This platform was launched in response to the rolling out of the design project for the next 50 years of the UAE by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. This requires community collaboration to fulfill the goals of building a better future for the UAE. This is a way to design a better future for the next generation.

The UAE emphasizes providing world-class education at all levels. This involves providing resources, qualified teachers, and modern technology. The idea to involve the community, teachers, and parents in the decision-making process in education is another step forward to improve education in the Emirates.
