Christopher Columbus was a great explorer. He traversed uninhabited lands (as history puts it) and dared to go where most of the civilized world at that time, was afraid of even attempting to dock!

This then begs the question; what made him such a great explorer? Well, for one thing, he must have been pretty organized and prepared.

Going on such lengthy, treacherous voyages to the unknown meant he must have had some of the most proficient planning systems in place. Food, water, and weapons must have been packed and rationed effectively.

Okay, maybe life today might not be as hard as the days of Columbus, but there’s a lot that can be learned from them.

If one plan’s to go on their first hunt (with the guidance of a professional hunter, of course) then it’s paramount that they are prepared.

That being said, here are some essential tools that one must carry on their first epic adventure in the realm of hunting!

A tactical backpack:

If one is stepping out of the confines of their home and into the wild, then a tactical backpack is something they should carry with them. For starters, it’s extremely durable; so don’t expect the occasional wear and tear that the regular bag gets.

Moreover, despite its great size, it’s pretty lightweight, and also happens to house plenty of accessible pockets.

Last but not least, tactical backpacks have plenty of straps that enable one to carry as many tools as possible. Even some rope if needed!

Folding saw:

If the hunt is going to take a while, then taking an efficient folding saw along is quite necessary. The great thing about folding saws is that they’re pretty light and hence, one can carry them seamlessly.

Ideally, folding saws are meant for home use, but they can be used in the outdoors to cut down some firewood, or even cut down some branches if one is thinking of making a fireplace.

That being said, Stay hunting provides other essential tools from which one can have the perfect hunting adventure!

Water filtration bottle:

Traversing the forest can be pretty hard, but finding water that is clean and safe to drink is nearly impossible. In fact, it led to the prevalence of myths like that of 18th and 19th Century towns in America had to resort to drinking root beer to avoid all the potentially lethal effects of drinking contaminated water.

Essentially, these water bottles have filters built in them to enable one to scoop up rainwater, or even water from the river, filter it, and drink it safely.

High-Quality Rope:

A majority of people don’t appreciate the value of a high-quality rope when they go out hunting. In fact, there are plenty of things one can do with a great rope while outdoors.

For starters, one can use it to create their tent out in the wild. Moreover, they can use it to guide them back to the camping site whenever they get lost.

That being said, one should ensure that the rope in question is of the highest quality!

A weapon for protection:

You never know what you might encounter on your adventures in the wild. Better be safe than sorry, so don’t forget to bring a weapon for protection if danger comes too close. If you already have an existing weapon like a gun, that would be enough to take with you. You can also accessorize it with additional equipment if you want to use it for hunting. You don’t want to come too close to your prey to avoid alerting it; hence, optics and sights are essential for a more precise aim for long-range shots. Iron sights are necessary gun accessories for hunting. The horizontal and vertical reference points give you a clearer view, making it easier to take accurate shots.
