Do you remember the goat herder who places his dead daughter in Daenerys’s hand, played by Emilia Clarke, in the magnanimously popular HBO television series Game of Thrones?
Darren Kent, who gave an emotional and moving performance as the goat herder in the show, died on 15 August 2023.
Carey Dodd Associates, his talent agency, informed him of his death through a post on the social media platform ‘X’ previously known as Twitter. The statement declared that his parents and his best friends grieve for him. The agency called him “dear friend and client Darren Kent”!
CNN further confirmed the news from Samantha Dodd, who worked at the Carey Dodd Associates; however, she did not state anything about the cause of death. However, he was known to suffer from a rare skin disorder, osteoporosis, and arthritis.
Apart from his brief but moving role in Game of Thrones, he has acted in several well-known projects such as Snow White and the Huntsman, an adaptation of Les Miserables by BBC, Shameless, community, and Bloody Cuts.
One of his major roles at the beginning of his career was in the horror film Mirrors, released in 2008. Among his recent noteworthy portrayals, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, released on 31 March, can be mentioned where he played a reanimated corpse.
He has been involved in several other movies as a producer apart from an actor, such as You Knew Me in 2021 and Rogue Trader in 2019. Also, he earned a January award for the film You Know Me.
He received a trophy for the best actor at Van d’Or Independent Film Awards 2012. The film for which he was highlighted was called Sunny Boy, and it was one of his best performances to date! Kent was born in Essex, England.
He drew inspiration from his real-life chronic health issues to portray a boy with a rare skin condition enabling him to be exposed to the sun. In the ‘X’ post, love and thoughts are offered to his family!
