5 Different Ways to Make an Iced Coffee

We all know, drinking iced coffee can become boring over time. Therefore, try these five different ways to try and mix up your iced coffee game!

1. Try Adding Simple Syrup

Iced coffee may be delicious on its own; however, it can quickly become boring to drink if you have it every single day… multiple times a day! Next time you are looking to switch up your iced coffee, try adding some simple syrup to the drink.

You can make your own simple syrup at home by simply combining one part sugar and one part water on the stove over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Additionally, you can add any extra flavoring you desire. Some popular flavors are vanilla, chocolate, pumpkin, mocha, and peppermint, but you can always make a unique flavor to fit your taste buds.

Don’t want to make your own simple syrup? You are in luck! You can find a large selection of simple syrups at most markets.

2. Inside Out Ice Coffee

Tired of the ice cubes making your iced coffee a bit too watery for you? The solution is to test the inside-out ice coffee. This method is where you take coffee and chocolate sauce to make the ice cubes for your iced drink. You’ve hooked already, huh? The best part is it doesn’t have to be chocolate sauce either.

You can mix coffee and whatever additive you are craving to make the ice cubes, pour them into ice trays, freeze them, and then simply use them in place of the normal ice cubes for your next coffee. This allows you to keep mixing up your iced coffee game, so you are never getting bored. Plus, it is undeniably tasty!

3. Try Using Cold Brew vs. Hot Brewed Coffee

Traditionally, ice coffee is made by brewing coffee and letting it cool down prior to using it. While delicious, who wants to go to all that work just to have to let the hot coffee cool for several hours or even overnight and lose flavor? Instead, give the cold brew a try!

It is made by steeping for at least ten hours and without heat, making it more full-bodied, less acidic, smoother, and overall sweeter. You can make cold brew quickly at home by simply placing water over your high-quality coffee grounds, stirring, covering, and letting the coffee sit overnight on the counter.

The next day, all you have to do is simply strain the grounds and place the filtered coffee into the refrigerator for use over the next several days. If this process is too long for you or you are in a hurry but still want to have a morning ice coffee, a good solution could be to get a cold brew bottle and use it to make your iced coffee.
