This is exactly what Brian Sheth founded a charitable organization does. The Sheth Sangreal Foundation is doing. In just over ten years, the Foundation has implemented several projects that support wildlife conservation efforts in more than 80 countries.
Who Is Brian Sheth?
Brian Sheth is the former president of a private equity fund based in Austin, Texas. He was born in the United States to an immigrant father from India who worked in finance and an Irish-Catholic mother who worked in insurance.
Sheth studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained a B.S. in Economics before working in M & A at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. He then worked for Bain Capital before joining Vista Equity Partners in 2000.
Sheth is a loyal philanthropist, and in 2011 they established the Sheth Sangreal Foundation. He was accompanied by his wife, Adria.
The Sheth Sangreal Foundation
Brian Sheth founded the Sheth Sangreal Foundation to pursue his philanthropic interests. According to the SSF website, Sheth applies the same strategies that have resulted in billions of dollars in earnings for his investment partners to the charities and projects that he supports.
The main aim of the Sheth Sangreal Foundation is to manage Sheth’s philanthropic efforts. These primarily focus on wildlife conservation. Sheth also is the chair emeritus of Re: wild, a charitable foundation formerly known as the Global Wildlife Conservation. Re: wild’s work protects wildlife and ecosystems in over 50 countries.
Since the Sheth Sangreal Foundation was founded in 2011, it has participated in over 400 projects to date and has formed partnerships with 90 conservation groups in over 80 countries.
According to statistics posted on the Foundation’s website, it has spent US$60 million on these efforts, which are estimated to have resulted in the preservation of 50,000 square miles of forest and saved 83 species from extinction. The foundation’s community projects are also thought to have positively impacted the lives of over 120,000 children.

4 Different Foundation’s Approach

The Sheth Sangreal Foundation In Action: Wildlife Conservation
The Sheth Sangreal Foundation provides a large amount of support to wildlife conservation initiatives through Re: wild. To date, Re: wild has protected over 350,000 acres of key wildlife habitat since it was founded in 2008. These wildlife habitats are home to over 17,000 species, more than 150 of which are threatened according to the charity’s website.
Brian Sheth and other foundation delegates participated in Wild Night for Wildlife in 2019, an event that raised donations for Re: wild’s mission to conserve Earth’s wildlife diversity. The event raised a record US$4 million.
“Wild Night for Wildlife is a wonderful celebration not only of Re: wild’s incredible team and partners but also of all of the heroic individuals and companies that support our important work,” said Sheth at the time of the event. He went on to add that members of his Foundation and Re: wild were able to tap into the local community of Austin, Texas, and its charitable spirit in order to help raise these funds.
The year prior to this event in 2018, the Sheth Sangreal Foundation participated in another event with Re: wild, which raised US$17 million from donors in addition to US$15 million, which was donated by the Foundation.
This huge US$32 million in funding enabled Re: wild to continue its core mission through projects in areas including Pu Mat National Park, Vietnam, the Caribbean island of Redonda, and the Bahamas, where marine life is threatened by problems including unsustainable fishing, reef destruction, and agricultural runoff.
Local Outreach Programs
While the Brian Sheth Sangreal Foundation is heavily focused on wildlife conservation, it also operates in other areas. The Foundation is well known in Sheth’s hometown of Austin, Texas, implementing many projects that support the local community.
Most recently, the Foundation made a US$750,000 donation to the Austin Area Urban League in support of communities that were severely hit by the city’s unusual winter weather that hit the area in February 2021. This money provided meals and non-perishable goods, drinking water, and survival gear to people forced to shelter in place. It also covered some of the costs of people who were forced to relocate.
In addition to the funds, the Foundation obtained 500,000 packages of water from Flow Hydration to help the thousands of people who were left without access to drinking water. Sheth stated the funds would also help rebuild the community and provide ongoing aid for food and housing.
Sheth Sangreal Foundation COVID-19 Response
The Brian Sheth Sangreal Foundation has been heavily involved in raising money to support people who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Foundation is involved with United Way’s All Together ATX campaign, a community fund that provides the basics for communities disproportionally affected by the economic consequences of COVID-19. The fund was first set up in March 2020 and has since provided a total of over US$7 million to non-profits in the Austin area who have used the funds to acquire food and PPE and provide direct cash and social support to residents.
The Foundation’s Partnership With The GRAMMY Foundation
In 2019, the Sheth Sangreal Foundation also partnered up with the GRAMMY Foundation to fund an initiative called Saving the Planet with Song.
In partnership with the GRAMMY Foundation, the GRAMMY Museum, and The Recording Academy, the Sheth Sangreal Foundation’s musical initiative utilizes musical concepts to teach elementary, middle, and high school children throughout the United States the importance of conservation and the role of biodiversity.
Together, the Brian Sheth Sangreal Foundation and the GRAMMY Foundation also launched the Anguilla Music Academy. It is a world-class recording studio that includes best-in-class recording equipment and classroom spaces where Anguillan children can learn music playing, composition, and singing.
The Anguilla Music Academy is located on the top floor of the National Commercial Bank of Anguilla at the western end of the island.
