The team of Meta at Instagram has launched Threads, a microblogging media platform that can be used to text, create posts up to 500 characters, and post pictures and higher-quality short videos. It was announced uniquely by Zuckerberg, who tweeted Spiderman pointing at other Spiderman memes!
According to Zuckerberg, the platform has already garnered an enormous following of 2 million users within 2 hours and will have over 1 billion users soon. He claims that the application can quickly become one of the mainstream public conversation apps.
Threads are considered one of the significant alternatives to Twitter and pose a threat. Twitter has been undergoing a severe crisis and faces challenges, especially concerning loosened content moderation policies.
Thousands of employees have been laid off after Musk acquired Twitter in November. Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion and has integrated severe controversial policy changes in the company.
One of the most significant changes that have impacted users of Twitter is that now there has been an implementation of limitation on the number of tweets viewed on a particular day. All this crisis has further increased with the launch of Threads, and Zuckerberg is provoking Musk through a meme.
The online challenge between Twitter owner Elon Musk and Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg started when there was a rumor that Zuckerberg was looking for an opponent in a jiu-jitsu match. Musk responded by tweeting, “Some chance fight happens in Colosseum.”
The entertainment value of this online match went up when Zuckerberg posted the screenshot of Musk’s tweet and a caption, “Send me location” in his story. It was further forwarded to Musk, who said, “if this is for real, i will do it.” It was taken to a different level when Zuckerberg used a meme as his first tweet to indirectly poke Musk about the launch of Threads, which is an alternative to Twitter. The online challenging match between Musk and Zuckerberg has a separate entertainment value now!
