Patient

Patience is a virtue, as some would say, but in our world today, almost every individual lacks that particular virtue. It’s not surprising since the modern world has made almost everything convenient for us that waiting for something has become a bane. We should be more patient to improve ourselves.

Think about it: back then people had to wait several weeks before they received a letter from their loved ones, these days we have same-day delivery from Amazon. Back then, it took several months for Brits to travel from Africa to London; these days it takes us less than a day.

So, it’s not surprising that people today are not as patient as their ancestors. But patience is still a virtue, and it also helps minimize your stress, which is vital if you’re waiting for your website to rank higher or land in the first two pages.

Any SEO specialist who claims that your website will be at the top of any search engine in a couple of weeks is lying because it really takes time to push it to the top. So, if you hired someone to help your website rank higher through SEO in London, then you should learn to be patient.

Fortunately, you can improve your patience by following these four simple steps:

1. Improve patience by waiting:

Improve patience by waiting

It seems painfully obvious that to improve your patience, and you need to learn how to wait. But, you should do this even when you’re not forced to wait for something. What you can do is start with small things. For example, you might have heard of a good Netflix series, and you want to watch it.

Instead of bingeing the whole series, pace yourself and watch one episode per day. If you really want to exercise your patience try watching one episode a week.

2. Find comfort in inconvenience:

One of the reasons why we often feel impatient is because we’re stuck in a situation that’s making us uncomfortable. For example, you wish that your girlfriend would hurry up with her shopping because you hate being stuck inside a department store where you don’t see anything that interests you.

So, rather than get mad at your better half try to make yourself comfortable in that situation. You can start by appreciating the clothes that your girlfriend is checking out. Instead of offering her a shrug when she asks you if the blouse she picked up is beautiful try to visualize her wearing it and see if she really does look better in it.

3. Take a break from multitasking to become more patient:

Sometimes our mind is what makes us impatient because we often think too hard about the million and one things we need to do every day. Think about it: you start one task, and before you even finish it, you already start thinking about your next job.

That’s when frustration and impatience settle in because you feel like you don’t have enough time in the day to do all your work or you feel that you’re saddled with too many tasks. So, instead of trying to think of all the tasks you need to accomplish or instead of trying to do them all focus on one task first.

Try to finish that first task and then set your mind on the next one. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you try to take on all your tasks at the same time so it would be better if you try not to multitask so much.

4. Practice deep breathing:

deep breathing

It may sound like a New Age thing, but deep breathing can help reduce the stress in your body, which is contributing to your impatience. If you practice deep breathing, you’re helping your body to relax, which is what it needs if you want to learn to be patient.

If you’re relaxed, then there are no feelings of anxiety that can make you more impatient.

So, if you want to become more patient try out the suggestions above and soon enough, you’ll notice the change in your behavior.
