The algorithm of Amazon works in such a way that it tries to surpass the price or match it while competing with online stores and websites. A former Amazon employee informed me that Costco has the lowest cost per unit for a specific product.

Amazon tries to implement price matching with Costco in terms of similar products and pack sizes. Costco has already established pricing where all the prices are quite low for all products across the board, even when the pack size is similar at Costco and Amazon.

Costco and Amazon evaluate the pricing of products of each other’s brands and accordingly set their prices. Who benefits from this competition? Customers benefit from this comparison and price match; therefore, the brand provides value.
