What Cars Will Be Classics In 20 Years?

Whether it’s the old British roadsters that were the stuff of movie legends, or the sleek, racy German sports cars that won the hearts of movie stars and racing drivers, there are plenty of cars that will stand the test of time. But which will be the classics of 20 years from now?

Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is a two-seater that is meant to compete with some of the most extreme track-focused cars on the market. It will make its debut at the Monterey Speed Week in California.

The V12 Vantage Roadster is the first of two new models in the Vantage line. For this model, Aston Martin engineers developed a wide-body design, which will be available in a coupe and convertible variants.

As with the coupe, the Vantage Roadster features a power-operated fabric roof. It has a wide-body design with a Z-shaped roof that saves trunk space. However, the Roadster has slightly higher noise levels and steering that’s not as responsive.

Like the coupe, the Roadster will have an aerodynamics package. This includes a special grille. Additionally, the trunk is a little smaller than the coupes. That said, it still has room for a full-sized golf bag.

The interior of the Vantage Roadster is designed to be comfortable and luxurious. You’ll find soft-touch leather panels and real-metal trim pieces. Also, the infotainment system is based on a previous-generation Mercedes-Benz system.

However, the controls on the center stack don’t have any room around the sides for ease of use. Plus, there’s a small screen for the infotainment.

While the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster isn’t the most technologically advanced car on the market, it’s an exciting sports car. Moreover, it’s a car that has the potential to become a classic in its own right.

Audi TT

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Audi TT, Audi has released a series of official photographs. These show off a number of changes to the sports coupe.

Among the most notable changes to the TT are a single-frame grille, new side trims, and restyled wheels. This is accompanied by a power uplift and equipment uplift.

The interior is also a winner. The dashboard features an “Audi Virtual Cockpit” that replaces fiddly analog dials with an adaptive TFT screen. And the sound is terrific. There’s also a Bluetooth module for hands-free use.

The Audi TT was a game-changer for the German manufacturer. It sparked global interest and caught the attention of journalists around the world.

But the car also suffered from teething problems. Some examples were involved in crashes. A stability control system that malfunctioned during sharp turns was among the issues. As a result, a full recall of all TTs took place.

On the bright side, the TT received some positive reviews after the fixes were completed. It was named the “Driver’s Car” by motoring journalists and made it onto several “Ten Best” lists.

However, it is hard to ignore the fact that the TT was not particularly exciting to drive. Likewise, the car’s styling was largely influenced by postwar sedans.

Mercedes-AMG cars

Despite its shortcomings, the C4 Cactus is still a good buy. A base model starts at PS14,000 and it’s available in three trim levels. You can get a 1.6-liter turbodiesel or a 1.2-liter petrol engine.

While it lacks the creature comforts of modern cars, the Cactus was always the kind of car buyers didn’t necessarily want to cosset in. Today’s safety design standards demand crumple zones and impact protection.

Mini Cooper R50

Mini Cooper R50 has been a real hit in the car industry. This compact hatchback offers a great driving experience, while also being practical and affordable. The design is a modern take on an iconic ’60s original.

The 1.6-liter supercharged four-cylinder is a bit of a misnomer, but this engine is a lot of fun to drive. It’s also a great fuel-sipper, averaging better than 20 miles per gallon.

In fact, you can get an R50 for a lot less than it costs to buy a new one, thanks to the used car market. That means you can save up to a cool ten thousand dollars, and still enjoy the fun of a new MINI.

While the R50 is not the most fun to drive, it does have some nice features, such as a manual transmission. But it doesn’t have the speed or performance of other models, especially the newer ones.

For starters, the R50 has decent trunk space. And even though it is a little bit squat, it is quite comfortable to drive.

Although the B48 4 Cylinder Twin Scroll Turbo engine isn’t as powerful as the 3.2-liter V-6 of the earlier models, it is a lot more efficient. A good performance camshaft and exhaust manifold can increase horsepower by up to 140.

In addition, the R50 has a manual gearbox, which is another rarity in the industry. Also, this Mini is not as large as its predecessor, making it a more interesting drive.

BMW 1M

One of the most sought-after sports cars is the BMW 1M. It is one of the smallest and lightest modern M cars. There is more to it than meets the eye, however.

The 1M has been a cult classic ever since it first hit the streets. The most important part about the BMW 1M is its performance. With a power-to-weight ratio of 224 horsepower per tonne, it is a great performer. In terms of rolling acceleration, it is impressive, able to accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

Another thing to note about the BMW 1M is that it is a genuine M car, rather than just an aftermarket tuner. A group of BMW M engineers put together this project and, as a result, it was more than just a parts bin special.

The car is a bit more sophisticated than its predecessor, but that’s not to say it isn’t a riot to drive. It’s got an incredibly punchy turbo-six, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This enables it to deliver impressive rolling acceleration, especially compared to its rivals.

In addition to its raucous performance, the BMW 1M has a well-appointed interior, as evidenced by the high-end features found on its build sheet. These include Comfort Access keyless entry, heated front sports seats, and a Harman/Kardon audio system.
