Hiring Moving Companies In Other Countries

Moving Companies

A common concern for families living in the US is the possibility of having problems when moving home – especially abroad.

Moving companies play a major role in making the whole move from place to place as trouble-free as possible, but that can get complicated if you are actually moving to another country or even just taking furniture out of the country.

How are you supposed to manage to move from country to country, and what kind of steps can be important to know if you are doing it for the first time? It is something that usually has to be done in a different way depending on your exact circumstances.

International Movers vs. Local Movers Abroad

International Movers

One of the biggest issues you will come across is a very simple one: is it better to hire a moving company that handles the whole process internationally or uses a local one in each country?

A company that specializes in moving your belongings internationally might be the answer that seems the most obvious, but that is not always the case. Costs can be higher, the process can take longer to arrange, and you really need to trust the moving company itself.

For a lot of people, switching to using a different company in each country can sometimes be the simpler answer. Hiring a local US moving company, then a method to move the furniture abroad, then another moving company in your destination might make a huge difference to the whole process.

First of all, you will usually pay lower tarieven verhuisbedrijf (moving company rates) since they do not have to take the items internationally themselves. It also allows you to vet each company individually, meaning that you can use three companies that you know you are happy to work with instead of taking a chance on just one.

Moving Company Regulations

It is also important to check if there are any specific regulations you need to be aware of before using a different moving company in each country. For example, there may be laws on how you can import certain things or the way that overseas transportation needs to be handled.

This all depends on your exact circumstances and the country that you are moving to, of course. Some places may allow very easy transport while others are more regulation-heavy, so it is important to do your research and make sure you understand what you will have to do.

For example, maybe you need Dutch anchor moving equipment to move heavy furniture between floors. However, the rules for that in a place like the Netherlands will be at least slightly different than in many other countries.

Trust On Moving Companies

Another factor is that you will need to compare moving companies on the Internet before making your final decision. There are plenty of moving company comparison websites available online, including plenty that is specific to particular countries or areas. The more you know about your options, the easier it is to choose companies that you can trust.

Remember that customer reviews can be a great place to look if you are not sure of which option to choose. This can be especially true for foreign companies since you may not initially know which ones to look for or what the usual expected standards of moving companies in that country are.
